8 WEEKS
As Invstr evolved to include investing, banking, and gaming features, the original app became crowded and complex. Users struggled to find and complete the Academy due to its buried placement. We created a standalone app focused purely on financial education—designed for simplicity, structure, and better learning outcomes.
Key Outcomes
2.3x
more users completed the Academy compared to the original in-app version
38%
of new users completed at least one lesson within their first session (vs. 14% previously)
76%
of users said the app made learning about money feel "less intimidating"
Single-Purpose Navigation
We removed competing features like investing tools and games to create a distraction-free learning experience. This helped users stay focused on education, leading to higher lesson completion and lower drop-off rates.
Gamified Learning Journey
We introduced XP points, daily streaks, and milestone rewards to motivate users to return and progress through lessons. These mechanics encouraged consistent engagement and made financial learning feel fun and goal-oriented.
Bite-Sized, Mobile-First Lessons
Each lesson was restructured into short, swipeable modules designed for mobile. This format reduced cognitive load and made it easier for users to fit learning into their daily routines — even in short bursts.
